You are spot on here. While utilizing keywords is an effective way to boost organic search traffic, it is important to remember the audience! In order for content to be engaging it must tap into your audience's wants, needs, pain points, or issues.

Sounds so simple, but this seems to be a real stumbling block for a lot of companies: "...content should be designed to answer prospect and customer questions in relation to problems they're trying to solve."

Maybe they'd hired some SEO content writers? ;-)

I was on a b2b tech site recently where the Trade Mark (TM) superscript was used dozens of times per page (on several key product pages.)

It got so distracting that I was counting them rather than concentrating on the content!
