This is interesting...

So many people have a different take on what will work for 2010. Whether it's email, facebook, or word-of-mouth.
It's good to see that classic email still works!

It is true that email is still the king but it is taking a new face in many instances. Facebook is really growing in popularity as a method of email.

I'm interested in seeing how long it takes for Google Wave to really help to automate and enhance communications.

The ending statement, "Databases should not be used for one-size-fits-all distribution of your email programs" is the tell all of where email marketing users get it wrong. Email marketing exists and has been refined and repolished so that you can reach people where they are at and what interactions/steps they took with your communication. Social media is a great place to engage and start conversations but email makes the relationship last, specifically when you target your prospects needs.
